A tradition that started way back in 2015, New England Patriots owner Robert K. Kraft has another Air Force 1 to add to his bountiful trophy case, joining the six Lombardis that were amassed since 2002.
Kraft’s got a soft spot for Nike’s slightly modernized, lightweight iteration of the Air Force 1 of the Ultra Flyknit variety, which features a midsole with React Foam cushioning and a thin, featherweight upper built by Flyknit. Unlike previous RKK x AF1 productions, this pair boasts a three-dimensional chiseled Swoosh piece on both the medial and lateral sidewalls above a royal blue Flyknit upper. Patriots logos don the heel-tabs, while his initials join an image of the NFL’s ultimate annual prize for one of the hardest tongue labels designed in recent memory.
It doesn’t seem like another Super Bowl win is in the immediate future for the Patriots, but with a dedicated owner in Kraft and a head coach with a winning track record in Belicheck, they’ll be back in contention soon enough.
A SNKRS release is likely coming soon; stay tuned for updates (retail is expected at $160).
