Ever since the Nike Zoom KD 4, Kevin Durant has paid tribute to the life and memory of his late Aunt Pearl through an annual pink-based colorway inspired by her fight against breast cancer. Spanning 12 total heartfelt and intricately designed homages that have each benefited the Kay Yow Cancer Fund, Durant’s 16th signature silhouette has recently been seen in its yearly bright pink proposition.
Picking up on the same color-blocking cues as the KD 15, the upcoming ensemble stretches soft pink shades across the near entirety of the engineered mesh upper, leather overlays and Zoom-infused sole unit underfoot. A seldom white trim affixed to the full-length mid-foot panel accents the clad-colored upper while hits of hot pink inject further titular grandeur within the medial TPU plate and upper eye stays. While the collection’s synonymous rose motifs and embroidered details have yet to be revealed, the bulbous KD tongue logos clean up the tonal composition with an opposing simplicity.
Enjoy a first look at the Nike KD 16 “Aunt Pearl” below as we await the pair’s eventual release during Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October.
