Jovani Hernandez The last decade has seen the Swoosh make a notable push into the realm of women’s sneakers. Recently, the Nike Phoenix Waffle joined the ever-expanding catalog.
Rooted in Nike Running’s legacy, the women’s silhouette brings old school design to the modern era. Mesh bases are overlaid with suede panels across the forefoot, along the tongue, and around the heel. Profile swooshes and upper heel areas feature tumbled leather accents that compliment the branding on the tongue, as well as detailing throughout the sole unit. An “aged” midsole further harkens back to yesteryear, while the waffle-patterned outsole rounds out the women’s offering.
