adidas Originals has unveiled its latest NFT-inspired project: the adidas Superstar “Into the Metaverse.”
Covered in an understated “Halo Blue/Core Black/Solar Yellow” color scheme, the sneaker blends real life legacy with virtual style. The Three Stripes began a partnership with Bored Ape Yacht Club, gmoney, and PUNKS Comic in mid-December 2021. Since then, the German sportswear behemoth has embarked on a handful of different projects that explore Web3 like few other competitors have. The reworked Superstar keeps its traditional shell-toe and rubber sole unit, but features a number of modern updates. Teasel suede across the upper injects a premium look into the iconic design, with its “Halo Blue” finish referencing the digital world. partner logos at the lateral heel follow suit, but the most obvious connection to the world of non-fungible tokens is the image of Indigo Herz on the tongue label. The Bored Ape, owned by adidas Originals, replaces standard branding, bringing a piece of the virtual space into real life.
Enjoy official campaign photography of the pair ahead. The “Into the Metaverse” Superstar releases via the adidas CONFIRMED app tomorrow, August 15th, at 3 a.m. EDT for a price of $125 USD.
