A Nike Air Max 1 “University Blue” Is On The Way

feature image

The Nike Air Max 1 continues to form an important part of the brand’s roster of products.

Recently, Tinker Hatfield’s iconic design emerged in a color scheme similar to its original makeup. White and grey cover the bulk of the sneaker’s base and middle layers, while cool “University Blue” flair animates the mudguards. Profile swooshes and branding on the tongue and spine follow suit, joining the upper eyelets and collar lining. The Air Max bubble’s pillars bring some of the upper’s University of North Carolina-appropriate blue underfoot, while surrounding foam opts for a “colorless” finish. Lastly, the waffle-patterned outsole keeps things simple, reprising the color-blocking on debut styles from 1987.

No firm nike.com launch details have been confirmed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy retailer photography of the pair ahead.
