The NFL may have just finished its Week 3 schedule, but Nike has already formulated its own plans to celebrate next February’s Super Bowl in Las Vegas featuring the Nike Air Trainer 1. While Vince Lombardi-inspired metal swooshes have laid claim to two colorways of Tinker Hatfields design, the Nike Trainer 1 now adds a similar aesthetic for the College Football Playoffs.
Earlier this month the iconic trainer introduced the upcoming collection featuring a clad-black upper illuminated by streaks of silver metallic contrasts. Celebrating the cross trainer’s 35th anniversary, the silhouette now embarks upon a wheat and gold accentuated effort. Jet-black leather and nubuck build out a dominant majority of the upper real estate while treating the tongue and heel counter to a velcro finish. Elsewhere, the shimmering gold foil detailing lays claim to the trim of the midsole, the heel’s embroidered insignia, the uppermost eyestays and the molded metal profile swooshes while a complimentary set of wheat accents concentrate along the fuzzy sock liner and heel tab. What’s more, the velcro heel counter and tongue coincide with a set of College Football patches
