The adidas Y-3 Kyasu Hi Is An Exercise In Brutalist Design

adidas Y-3 has evolved dramatically over the course of the last few years. And there’s arguably no better a testament to that fact than the recently-introduced Kyasu Hi, whose design is akin to that of brutalist architecture.

A stark contrast to some of the sub-label’s more notable propositions, the adidas Y-3 Kyasu Hi is replete with sharp, abstract lines. These are most evident along the platform sole, which — though partly-inspired by the Superstar — more closely resembles a sneaker from a video game rather than the real world. That’s not quite the case for the upper, however, whose simple construction directly juxtaposes the tooling below.

Enjoy a closer look at the adidas Y-3 Kyasu Hi in “Black” right here. As a few colorways have already hit the shelves overseas, it shouldn’t be long before we see these as well as several more pairs on adidas.com and at select retailers stateside.
