Fall is officially amongst us, ushering in a wave of rugged, highly-protective footwear from some of the industry’s biggest players. Yet, the Nike Calm Slide continues to emerge in tonal, bold styles more suitable for warmer days.
As October gets going, the controversial slip-on has appeared in an all-red ensemble, joining previously-seen vibrant “Volt” and “Total Orange” takes. Nike’s offered red-covered versions of its popular slides designs before, but the Calm Slide‘s makeup could be informed by Kanye West’s highly-coveted Air Yeezy II “Red October” from 2014. Ye’s influence led the Swoosh to cover several silhouettes in “Triple-Red” makeovers throughout the mid and late-2010s. The Nike Calm Slide arrived in the aftermath of the adidas Yeezy Slide‘s discontinuation, and features a design sufficiently-similar to draw comparisons between both models. Two different shades of ruby flair animate the Swoosh’s proposition, giving the maximally-cushioned slides yet another bold look.
No firm nike.com launch date has been disclosed by the brand, but that’s likely to change soon. In the meantime, enjoy official photos of the pair ahead.
