What Is The “Reimagined” Series?

The Reimagined series was introduced by Jordan Brand back in 2021 with the idea of “reimagining” of an original, iconic Air Jordan of the past with new materials. The first official “Reimagined” release is the Air Jordan 1 “Patent Bred” from December of 2021, which changed out the original leather for a glossy patent leather. The next Reimagined release came nearly a year later with the Air Jordan 1 “Lost & Found”, which introduced the aged aesthetic. Many mistakenly believe the “Lost And Found” to be the first Reimagined release.

We first caught wind of the Air Jordan 1 “Royal Reimagined” at the tail end of 2022, with leakers reporting that a release would fall sometime during the Holiday 2023 season. And while “Reimagined” would typically lead us to expect the use of cracked leathers and aged, yellowed midsoles, we now know the collection to be much less predictable, as both the aforementioned pair as well as the Air Jordan 4 “Bred Reimagined” have gone in entirely different creative directions.

Official Images From Nike

Based on these official Nike images, the Air Jordan 1 “Royal Reimagined” is faithful to the original colorway. Its color blocking is practically 1:1 with the OG, as royal blues and blacks alternate throughout the upper in the very same manner. The only distinction lies in the construction, which replaces the leather upper typical of the silhouette for one that consists almost entirely of suede. See the official images below.

The future of Jordan Brand’s “Reimagined” releases are somewhat unpredictable. We can expect swaps in materials, the pre-aged look, or even new design ideas that we’ve yet to see revealed. By now, you should have a complete grasp of the Air Jordan 1 “Royal Reimagined”. Barring any notable delays, these should be available at Jordan retailers globally and Nike SNKRS on the scheduled November 4th date.
