Culminating in the release of Travis Scott’s golf-centric Air Jordan 1 Low later this week, Nike has devoted an overwhelming amount of resources toward tooling its most iconic silhouettes for the green over the past few seasons. Accompanied by a lugged tread and fused upper overlays, the Nike Air Max 1 ’86 OG has since been redesigned by the Nike Golf banner with a bespoke monochrome palette.
Drawing an ostensible connection to the SB Dunk Low Orange Label “White” through an exact replication in color blocking, the Tinker Hatfield design illuminates its original 1986 construction through a near-clad white upper. From the midsole and ballistic mesh base layer to the smooth leather overlays and tongue construction, colorless tones dominate the silhouette with fervor while seldom jet-black contrasts provide clarity to the profile swooshes, heel tab logo and the uppermost eyelets. What’s more, the course-ready outsole underfoot assumes a classic “Gum” treatment as soft pink insoles denote the pair’s Nike Golf logos.
