Reebok And Shaq Make Their First NIL Signing In National Champion Angel Reese

Reebok is revamping its basketball division with fervor. After naming Shaquille O’Neal and Allen Iverson as President and Vice President of the on-court banner, respectively, the Boston-based brand has since made its first-ever NIL signing in LSU center and reigning NCAAW National Champion Angel Reese.

Hailing from Shaq’s alma mater, the two unstoppable forces on the hardwood have held a special bond over the years with O’Neal mentoring Reese ever since she transferred to LSU in 2022. Known for her unapologetic grace and charismatic personality, Reebok’s first-ever signature wearer has ceremonially passed off the Reebok-branded baton with Reese’s signing.

“I am honored to be working closely with one of my longtime mentors, Shaq along with a brand that I have
admired since I was just a little kid,” Reese said. “It means the world to me that they trust in me to extend their legacy to a new generation.”

Beginning this Fall, Reese will be positioned at the forefront of Reebok’s lifestyle, fashion and performance initiatives, matching the basketball ecosystem’s shift toward heralding and spotlighting more female athletes. Meanwhile, a billboard in Times Square has already appeared to announce the industry-shifting partnership.

“For my first appointment in this role, it had to be the GOAT. There is no one making a bigger impact on the game right now than Angel Reese,” Shaquille O’Neal said. “Angel is shaking up the space, just like Reebok has done all along. I’m proud to welcome Angel into the Reebok family and can’t wait to see how she will bring the brand’s legacy to the next generation.”

Over the next few years, Reebok will unveil its return into the basketball space featuring an all-new slate of performance models and technologies. As they build towards a triumphant return, Reese and the brand are reportedly in the midst of tailoring her own capsule collection, set for a Fall/Winter 2024 release. In the meantime, the ESPYS 2023 Best Breakthrough Athlete will continue to influence the banner’s upcoming assortment of future designs and innovations.
