The Nike Dunk Low “Brown Ostrich” Delivers An Air Of Luxury

Peter Moore’s Nike Dunk Low continues to expand its off-court legacy – and it’s doing it with faux brown-colored ostrich.

Over the last 38 years, the low-top silhouette has helped the brand experiment with materials, color-blocking, and story-telling. As 2023 winds down, the popular Nike shoe has emerged in a luxurious, (faux) ostrich-covered ensemble. Likely part of an expansive Dunk Low LX collection, the pair features a traditional smooth leather base overlaid with glossy, patterned panels. “Phantom” sets the stage for “Ale Brown” contrast, creating the aptly-nicknamed “Brown Ostrich” Dunks.

Akin to some styles by Nike SB, the upcoming take on Moore’s legendary design features an off white midsole and “Light Gum Brown” outsole. The simple color combination promotes the silhouette’s place in the casual space, as does the model’s “LX” distinction. Branding hits on the tongue label and spine also deviate from Moore’s blueprint from 1985: “Nike” and swoosh logos on the tongue enjoy a metallic finish, while text on the Achilles’ heel overlay opt for a debossed look also found on the “Green Ostrich” Dunk Low. Together, each component expands the silhouette’s off-court legacy almost 40 years after its debut.

Check out official photography of the luxe pair ahead, as you wait for firm nike.com launch details. The “Phantom/Ale Brown”-colored pair will be priced at $135 USD and potentially only release in women’s sizing.

In related sneaker news, the Air Jordan 11 “Neapolitan” lands on November 11th.
