Nike’s “Be True To Her School” Collection Delivers Another Air Force 1 Low In “Purple/Gold”

The Nike Air Force 1 Low has helped the brand connect to countless people across the globe since its debut in 1983.

Recently, Bruce Kilgore’s 40-year-old design has been widely-adopted by women consumers, leading to fashion-forward updates, exclusive offshoots, and conceptual offerings rooted in their story. Nike Sportswear has been prepping a special collection titled “Be True to Her School” throughout the year, with another Air Force 1 joining the growing lineup.

Clad in Los Angeles Lakers and Louisiana State University-friendly colors, the women’s sneaker features leather build across its upper. Toe box and mid-foot panels, however, deviate from their smooth surroundings in favor of a basketball-like textured pattern. Overlays heavily favor a regal purple, but profile swooshes interrupt in a pristine white finish. Accompanying branding hits on the tongue label, spine, and sockliners take on a non-traditional style in line with the Air Force 1 Low‘s school theme. Special messaging from Nike Basketball also appears on the tongue’s underside and right shoe’s insole, nodding to the women’s sport. Together, each aforementioned component breathes new life into the “Be True to Your School” concept that helped Nike gain footing within college basketball back in 1985.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, and anticipate a nike.com launch soon.
