Headquartered in Kobe, Japan, the ASICS lifestyle lineup has been imbued with a fanciful amount of delicately detailed ensembles and carefully crafted inspirations throughout the years. Following up on last year’s Shigen collection, the overseas brand has brought forth the second iteration of its sustainably-minded capsule of footwear.
Constructed out of recycled paper, leather and polyester, the environmentally friendly collection pays homage to Japan’s overtly thorough recycling process. As such, both the EX89 and the GEL-NYC are treated to a fair amount of multi-color textiles that are derived from the contents of former products. Both low-top trims are then graced with an equal amount of crisp white that graces the upper’s leather fixtures while a faint mint green accent can be found at the heel of the racing solution and within the trim of the lifestyle model. What’s more, each pair is complimented by a vibrant injection of “Dolphin Blue” while cream-colored contrasts bring a vintage appeal to the sole units underfoot.
The ASICS Shigen 2.0 collection is available now with the EX89 retailing for $130 and the GEL-NYC retailing for $140.
In other news, a Lil Yachty x Air Force 1 is reportedly in the works.
