A New Balance 990v6 “Burgundy” will form part of the MADE in USA Fall/Winter 2023 collection.
Teddy Santis and company are leaving the vibrant tones behind in summer, trading darker and muted hues for their latest batch of offerings. The newly-surfaced wine-colored NB 990v6 joins a number of other MADE in USA products clad in “Olive Leaf. While not as understated as other New Balance styles prepped for the colder months of the year, the “Burgundy” option enables a different wardrobe, complementing heavier fabrics and layers well. Premium pig suede and breathable mesh reprise their traditional roles across the upper. A number of synthetic components join the mix with some panels along the profiles and around the heel interrupting the deep red ensemble with shades of brown.
Akin to other MADE in USA shoes, the New Balance 990v6 “Burgundy” features a simple “White/Grey” color scheme across its sole unit. A TPU back tab provides support, as does the polyurethane rim underneath. ENCAPE midsole cushioning works in-tandem with FuelCell – the brand’s marquee performance foam – to deliver all-day comfort. Ndurance traction rounds out the non-grey NB, nodding to the 990 series’ running heritage.
A stateside newbalance.com release will take place on October 26th. (The company’s T-House store in Tokyo is scheduled to launch the “Burgundy” NB 990v6 on October 27th.) The sneaker is priced at $210 USD.
