Jared Ebanks In congruence with the brand’s hallowed Air Max Day celebration, Nike inducted the all-new Nike Air Max Pulse into the family of Max Air models this past Spring. Infused with a 270-degree cushioning system at the heel, the revamped offering has quickly undergone a semi-reconstruction tooled for the exploration of both the outdoors and concrete jungles.
Taking cues from its contemporary forerunner, the Air Max Pulse Roam enters into a utilitarian construction that boasts effortless durability without sacrificing the silhouette’s street-ready style. Stout textiles fill the upper with a fervor, anchoring the near entirety of the model in a sturdy ballistic mesh while a singular leather support overlay is drawn diagonally from the vamp to the inner lining. The silhouette’s origins featuring a mid-foot shroud have been ditched in favor of uncovered profile swooshes while lace loops have been added on each side of the quarter for further security.
Underfoot, the silhouette evolves the sole unit that’s currently attached to the Nike Air Max 270 with a point-loaded cushioning system that’s plastic clip evenly distributes weight to differing targeting points across the footbed. The latter delivers a full-length experience despite the Airs’ exclusive infusion within the heel while the use of a waffle tread harkens to the beginnings of the Beaverton brand.
