To best understand the rise of Crocs, think of how the sneaker community grew from a sub-culture in the early 2000s to what it is today — and reverse it. The slip-on clogs were often worn ironically or purely for comfort for the hard workers who are on their feet most of the work day, but thanks to collaborations with Salehe Bembury, Nicole McLaughlin, Bodega, and more, Crocs is now sitting pretty as one of the more in-demand footwear brands for trend followers.
That intersection of casual wear and trends makes it rather convenient for the brand to work with collaborative partners in entirely different sectors. They can go from exploring projects with the most forward-thinking minds in fashion, and the next week they can add McNuggets with a side of fries in Jibbitz form. The latter is actually the perfect segue to the next drop of the month – a collection with Coca-Cola.
Revealed in three colorways (or flavors), the Coca-Cola Crocs includes two varietys of classic Coke — one in red and a second in the holiday-specific Polar Bear edition — and a third Sprite variety. The refreshing flavors are covered in fun and familiar patterns that reflect the global soft drink, while the Sprite opts for that blue/green gradient that existed on now-discontinued cans.
A release date for November 22nd is expected; for now, see a detailed look at the entire Coca Cola Crocs collection below.
