New Balance Delivers Two Winter-Ready 991 Options

New Balance Delivers Two Winter-Ready 991 Options

Frequenting a litany of inline iterations alongside a rare amount of collaborations, the New Balance 991 has expanded from its Flimby Cumbria origins to a modern staple for the Boston brand over the last few years. As the weather continues to chill and trees fall bare without leaves, New Balance is matching the seasonal transition with a duo of 991s ready to meet the unexpected winter conditions.

Coating its base layer in a thick ripstop material, the surrounding suede and nubuck overlays imbue the upper with a bundled-up aesthetic. Split between two disparate palettes, a pitch-dark treatment takes over the first of two propositions as a duo of greyscale hues are captured within the mid-foot surrounded by jet-black overlays. In contrast, a collection of cream tones envelops the second effort down to the chunky sole unit. A muted roster of browns then injects the tongue and vamp with a dissimilar accent while strict black contrasts clarify the “N” logos and laces.

Enjoy a detailed look at the New Balance 991’s Winter offerings below while we await further release details.

For silhouettes approaching a closer release date, the Jordan 38 “Aqua” arrives on December 7th.
