A “Black/Royal” Finish Takes On This Nylon-Accented Nike Air Force 1

The icon gets a facelift.

A “Black/Royal” Finish Takes On This Nylon-Accented Nike Air Force 1

Bruce Kilgore’s Nike Air Force 1 has undergone countless modifications since its debut in the early 1980s.

Recently, the “presidential” silhouette emerged in a muted “Black/Royal/White” color scheme. What the offering lacks in eye-catching colors is made up for via the use of non-traditional materials and added pull tabs at the heel. Although the Swoosh conglomerate has previously brought functional updates to the Air Force 1 Low, its latest arrangement sees the sneaker maintain its original blueprint. Other styles that’ve received these outdoors-appropriate touches have been part of experimental collections and the model’s Utility series.

Nylon panels replace standard leather at the mid-foot, offering a lighter and more breathable modification to Kilgore’s Nike design. Nearby, a miniature swoosh at the lateral forefoot boasts a contrasting blue tone. Branding on the tongue label and heel pull tab follow suit, further interrupting the mostly “Black” Air Force 1. Leather construction reprises its role across the majority of the upper, working with a “White” midsole for a combination fans of the shoe have come to love. Finally, the tried-and-proven radial outsole keeps things simple in pitch-dark style.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead, as you wait for firm nike.com launch details. The reworked Air Force 1 is expected to retail for a price of $125 USD.
