The adidas ZX 8000 has kept relatively quiet since its blockbuster collaboration with Gucci in March. As 2023’s end inches closer, the silhouette has emerged in an in-line color scheme that hints at it playing an important part of the Three Stripes’ 2024 roster of products.
Born in 1988, the ZX 8000 has enjoyed many reissues over the years. For its latest appearance, the Torsion system-donning silhouette has taken on an understated, but compelling combination of “Aluminum/Preloved Yellow/Collegiate Burgundy.” As with other adidas Originals offerings, the retro running sneaker delivers a healthy mix of vintage and modern flair through both design and color palette. Most of the pair’s real estate is clad in a grayscale finish, but profile 3-Stripes, inner-lining, and other components across the upper deviate in bolder hues. Underfoot, the tried-and-proven sole unit favors an off white midsole that contributes to the model’s old school appeal. Tread takes on a pitch-black makeover that allows for final hits of color to pop.
Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead. As of this writing, the pair is being offered at adidas.com outposts overseas. A stateside launch is likely to take place in the first half of 2024 for $130 USD.
