Matt Varga Nike may be the chief beneficiary of the wonderful world of Piet Parra when it comes to sneakers, but don’t count out Vans’ own explorations. Now stretching across multiple models in the Era, Half Cab 33, and Sk8-Hi all the way back in 2009, it’s only right to shift onto the “model of the moment” for their next chapter.
Revealed by Spanish retailer Sivasdescalzo, the two partners are kicking off 2026 with the Parra x Vans OTW Old Skool 36. Again, it’s a fitting silhouette given its time in the sun by way of the “Chanel,” “Pearlized Pack,” and other experimental mainline variants that’ve placed the low-top in the limelight.
The Dutch artist essentially keeps to his trademark style for this one, carrying a ton of resemblance to the aforementioned Half Cab. Wavy, overlapping patches of suede drape the shoe’s sidewalls, taking over the usual SideStripe branding in the process. Additionally, the aquatic and fiery shades that define this shoe should ring familiar to any fans of his oeuvre, continued with trippy linework on a co-branded box.
