Waffles For Breakfast: The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Gets Freshly Ironed

The broader "Waffle" collection releases Spring 2024.

Waffles For Breakfast: The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 Gets Freshly Ironed

Ever since its inception at the hands of Bill Bowerman and a kitchen waffle iron, Nike’s Waffle runner has spearheaded the sole units of the Beaverton brand’s extensive footwear archives for decades. Come 2024, the Nike Sportswear division will be paying homage to the significant piece of Swoosh history with a collection of silhouettes that sport overt inspiration to the sweet breakfast meal.

Introduced via a rich tonal colorway cast across the Nike Dunk Low, the upcoming Nike Waffle collection now includes a neutral-dipped Nike Blazer Mid constructed in its OG 1977 tooling. Cured in a faint “Sail” hue, the pale neutral tint consumes the entirety of the upper’s tumbled leather sidewalls with delicate color matches ascertaining the laces and tongue. Elsewhere, a seldom greyscale interruption assumes the suede mudguard and quarter, opposing the blank white sole unit underfoot. Just like its Dunk Low counterpart, the Blazer Mid achieves clear waffle inspiration in the iron-marked profile swooshes that combine with the “Wheat” heel and tongue tabs.

The Nike Blazer Mid ’77 “Waffle” is expected to release in Spring 2024 for a retail price of $110. In the meantime, the pair can be seen ahead in detailed imagery.

In other news, the LeBron 21 “Conchiolin” releases on December 19th.
