Nike’s G.T. Hustle 2 “Year Of The Dragon” Is Ready For 2024’s Hoops Season

Nike’s top-of-the-line G.T. Hustle 2 basketball shoe is the latest model to join the “Year of the Dragon” collection.

Having recently appeared as part of a Christmas capsule, the “Greater Than” design’s latest style enjoys a number of nods to the Lunar New Year. Shades of white cover the bulk of the sneaker, which features textile and synthetic components across the upper. The clean base sets the stage for black and red contrast throughout the top-half, with the latter tone falling in line with other “Year of the Dragon” Nike’s. Pitch-dark profile swooshes are stylized as the bodies of dragons, with “spikes” modifying the iconic logo’s traditional shape. A collection-specific tab also nods to the celebration, as do branding hits on both sides of the tongue. Elsewhere, the sockliners are stamped with festive and colorful cloud graphics, alluding to the winged creature’s domain. Spines also enjoy special markups for the occasion.

Underfoot, the performance-oriented sole unit keeps things simple, but fresh. No overt references to the change in the Zodiacal calendar appear, but outsoles opt for a semi-translucent, bright blue finish that could double as another nod to the sky. Rubber at high-wear zones deviate in a black makeup that bring some contrast to the sole unit. Each aforementioned component, however, delivers a compelling take ready for the Lunar New Year tradition.

Enjoy official photos of the pair ahead. A firm nike.com launch will likely take place by the last week of January 2024. The G.T. Hustle 2 is priced at $180 USD.

In related sneaker news, the LeBron 21 continues to emerge in new colorways.
