Donovan Mitchell’s adidas D.O.N. Issue 5 Joins “Year Of The Dragon” Trend

Considering how common the shade of gold is in Lunar New Year celebrations, it’s no wonder that Donovan Mitchell’s holiday-themed D.O.N. Issue 5 shares the same hues found on the recently-revealed “Year Of The Dragon” Harden Vol. 7.

If you prefer an abundance of go-lucky gold, then the special edition of Spida’s signature shoe will be more your speed as the color is layered throughout the entire sneaker. With James Harden’s YOTD shoe, adidas was a bit more conservative, working golden pin stripes onto the yin-yang-like black and white base.

Either shoe should perform well on the court, so it’s really a matter of personal preference. If price is a factor, it’s worth noting that the D.O.N. Issue 5 is a bit more affordable, and is expected to cost $120 compared to $160 for the Harden Vol. 7.

In other holiday-related adidas news, the brand is set to drop a pair of lovely “Valentine’s Day” Superstars next month.
