For the sophomore model, adidas pays homage to legendary footwear designer Toshiaki Omori, who since 1999 has implemented his “inside out” design ethos into the DNA of modern footwear design. Focusing on simplicity and the human foot form, adiZero was established as the brand’s top-flight performance platform as its tenets were applied to nearly every sport category at the three stripes.
The adiZero Select 2.0 contains the same breathable and lightweight package as its predecessor, but offers a lower cut silhouette and a new ribstop reinforcement. Lightstrike foam returns as the primary cushioning for quick bursts of speed on both ends of the court; the 2.0 iteration features specific cut-outs at the outsole, midsole, and strobel to further reduce weight.
Houston Rockets guard and adidas athlete Jalen Green has joined adidas in this official unveil, with a variety of colorways pictured above.
adidas confirms a February 1st launch date for the new model with an MSRP of $110; stay tuned for additional release details as we near the official drop date.
