Andrew Rizzo London fashion label Aries has built its reputation off non-gendered, luxury streetwear pieces. Having collaborated with New Balance on a variety of projects since 2018, the brand has made significant inroads in the sneaker world. Now, Aries and Reebok announce their first ever footwear collaboration, bringing together two powerhouses in the UK fashion scene.
For their inaugural collaborative effort, the duo tackles the Reebok Classic Leather, an important symbol of British style that’s stood the test of time despite coming and going trends.
Aries Founder and Creative Director Sofia Prantera states: “The concept was to embrace the simplicity of Classic Leather and respect its flawless design and long history. How can we give the shoe an Aries twist without compromising its simplicity?”
This brief actualizes with a “Mystic’s Shoe,” inspired by the aesthetics of mystics, wizards, and magicians – all of which resonate with Aries’ pagan influences.
Standout features of the shoe include a premium aqua-tinted leather upper, reflective Reebok branding, and a vintage tongue with exposed foam. On the insole, more details appear with Aries’ signature wizard graphic printed in gold, along with an inner tongue label that contains text regarding the design inspiration behind the collaboration. Reebok and co. celebrate the release further with a special-edition box that features more gold detailing, along with an extra pair of laces in signature Aries aqua.
The Aries x Reebok Classic Leather retails for $130 and is available on January 19th exclusively from the Aries website and the flagship store in London, soon followed by a global release on January 24th from Reebok.
