Kobe Bryant’s legacy in the All-Star Game was made lasting when the NBA named the mid-season MVP award after the late hero. There’s no doubt that the league’s best will be gunning for the Kobe Bryant Trophy on February on February 18th, but adidas is looking to honor the Black Mamba beforehand with a re-issue of the first shoes he ever wore to the event.

The adidas Crazy 8 in the black/white colorway is indeed confirmed a return in the coming weeks, arriving just days for the Sunday game. If you recall, Kobe Bryant made his first-ever NBA All-Star Game appearance in 1998 in just his second year in the NBA. Despite not even being a starter for the Lakers, Kobe dominated the fan vote, taking the world by storm with his high-flying antics and his potential to fill the huge void that would inevitably left by Michael Jordan.

Although not the first time adidas brought this classic back to stores, the last such occasion was a decade ago. There’s no question this Crazy 8 “All-Star” will be among the most coveted drops around All-Star Weekend, so mark your calendars for an official drop on Thursday, February 15th (adult + GS sizes confirmed).
