The Serena Williams Design Crew, established in 2021, consists of a group of ten up-and-coming designers with a mission to communicate diverse perspectives through a collection with Nike. Emboldened by Serena’s off-the-court style and on-court ferocity, this unique collective has been tasked with forging bold statements through footwear and apparel every year, and today we get a glimpse of what’s in the works for 2024.

Official images of an Air Max 1 from the Serena Williams Design Crew has emerged, revealing an homage to the tennis legend’s hometown city. The city of Los Angeles is cemented on the tongue label via an “LA” marker just beneath the Swoosh while also appearing on the plush velvet insoles. On the mudguard are decorative lines akin to the pin-striping seen on low-riders — a staple in LA car culture. Finally, rose gold appears via the links on the lace dubrae as well as the lace eyelets.

This Air Max 1 as well as the remaining 2024 Nike x SRDC collection will be available this Summer 2024.
