The basketball world sees some of its most significant sneaker releases in February and March, a stretch that plays host to both the NBA All-Star break and the NCAA playoffs. As Nike prepares to launch its “Greater Than” series featuring three modern performance models inspired by silhouettes embraced by NBA legends, news has also emerged regarding an “Est 1972” collection featuring the same silhouettes but with a nod to college hoops.
Among the pack is a new Nike Zoom GT Jump 2, appearing in Miami Hurricanes green and orange coloring on this installment. The shoes don’t adopt the same foamposite-inspired build seen on the “Greater Than” pair, instead returning to the silhouette’s original design. Green coloring takes to the knit base layer on this edition, matched by synchronous TPU accents on the tongue and eyelets, while a bright orange Swoosh and outsole complete the college-inspired theme.
While we don’t have word on a release date yet, expect this pair to hit shelves soon as March Madness draws closer. In the meantime, enjoy official images below and keep an eye on our Sneaker Release Dates page for more “Est 1972” collection drops.
