Updated February 20th, 2024: The Nike By You Air Max 97 “Hot Girl Systems” is available now on Nike.
First inking a partnership in 2021, Megan thee Stallion and Nike are ready to kick off their deal in earnest. It was a wave of announcements earlier today when both sides of the deal revealed the “Hot Girl Systems” collection, a wide ranging line of product offerings that spans athletic attire, branded workouts and of course, most crucial to our purposes, a run of sneakers. The Air Max 97 “Hot Girl Systems” present as a design half handled by Meg, and half handled by the consumer, built on “Nike By You” infrastructure.
Though the 3 tiers of customization options present over a dozen permutations, the “Something For Thee Hotties” Air Max 97 functionally come in four colorways. First is the flaming all-orange adornment titled “Queen Flame,” then the glittery, pure-white “Tina Snow,” the lilac tinted “Hottie” and the nocturnal “Dark Flame.” Once you’ve chosen your desired palette, you’re presented with a few more ancillary options, between a Swoosh or “Hottie” logo on the tongue, and those same options on the outsole alongside a speckled star design.
The “choose-your-own” aspect adds a ton of depth to Megan thee Stallion’s first true sneaker collaboration, allow consumer influence on the design of their own shoes rather than selecting from pre-fabbed products. However, despite that level of customization, there are a few things that remain constant on whatever Air Max 97 you can cook up. Each AM97 here boasts the same medial suede stripe down the center of the shoe, the one change to an otherwise all leather model. Additional, mismatched silver earrings present on both shoes as hangtags.
The “Something For Thee Hotties” Air Max 97 become available for purchase on February 20th, carrying a retail price of $210. Though you may have to wait to actually buy your pair, you can get a head start by pre-saving a design on the already available “Nike By You” module.
