The Nike Air Max 90 remains as iconic as it is widespread, plenty of colorway choices debuting each successive season to ensure accessibility in sizes big and small. The Air Max 90 “University Gold/Dusty Cactus” somewhat flips the formula there, taking a simplistic RBY palette typically seen on GR releases and instead employing it for a mens’ release.

Though navy and white may take up most of the shoe simply by square area, the shades that bring this shoe to life are those aforementioned primary colors. Most strikingly, a “Dusty Cactus” teal and red alternate the Swooshes on each side of the sneaker. That type of asymmetry, once reserved for collaborations aimed at being particularly subversive, has continued to make its way onto mainline Nike drops, like on the “Photo Blue/Lazer Orange” Blazer Low ’77.

Back to the sneakers at hand, those three shades take up the tri-tone sole unit that forefronts red towards the toe, navy in the center and yellow towards the heel, rising through to the midsole to backstop the air bubble. Rounding things out, red and yellow appear together on the Nike air heel tab.

No concrete release date are attached to the Nike Air Max 90 “University Gold/Dusty Cactus,” but expect these popping up at retailers and on the website in short order with a retail price of $130. They will be available in men’s sizes.
