Hot off the heels of the the reggae icon’s biopic “One Love,” adidas is capitalizing on that renewed focus on the singer with a brand new pack of Samba’s. The “Reggae” pack brings together a black and white pair of the adidas Samba, set for release in the coming weeks.
Due to his background as a deft footballer, Bob Marley during his life was frequently pictured in footwear from the German brand, perhaps the angle that they’re attempting to vie for with this release. The most novel edition onto each of these editions is obviously in the tri-color detailing, with alternating green, yellow and red taking to the medial Three Stripes branding.
Venturing towards keeping those shades entirely equal in their application, each of them only pop up in one other spot on the shoes- red outlines the yellow adidas branding on the tongue, while green provides a backstop on the heel cup. Outside of the alternating black and white that dominates the uppers on the two pairs, these Sambas hold onto the base of the classics, keeping constant the amber colored gum sole.
Pairs are available now via Up There, so you can expect a wider drop on adidas.com in the short term.
In some post-adidas news, take a look at our breakdown of the Yeezy Pods, Ye’s first batch of footwear since leaving the Three Stripes.
