Jaden Smith’s New Balance MSFTSrep Gets A Distressed Look

Forward-thinking design meets pre-worn treatments.

Jaden Smith’s New Balance MSFTSrep Gets A Distressed Look

Jaden Smith has become one of the sneaker industry’s most imaginative minds, pushing the boundaries of sustainable yet fashion-forward design through a large catalog of New Balance work. Despite having stepped out of the sneaker spotlight to focus on other ambitions like MSFTSrep, his clothing and lifestyle brand founded in 2011, Jaden’s partnership with the Boston brand continues to deliver new, eye-catching product.

The co-branded New Balance MSFTSrep model saw its debut late last year in all-white coloring, embracing the split sole unit of the Vision Racer in a slimmer cut akin to that of the New Balance 550. Now Smith and co. revisit the silhouette in a grey, distressed ensemble, combining progressive design with classic New Balance color treatments.

No stranger to loud, vibrant color treatments, this MSFTSrep installment follows a more avant-garde approach in alignment with Jaden’s creative journey to date. A pre-worn cut sole unit helps carry this aesthetic, communicating a vintage yet futuristic essence, while grey hues take to multiple materials up top. The upper’s 550-like cut boasts a mesh base, suede overlays, and reflective quarter paneling adorned with New Balance x MSFTSrep logos to complete the look.
