The arrival of Ishod Wair’s second signature shoe has sparked lots of buzz, more than what’s typical for new Nike SB silhouettes. The Nike Ishod 2, aka “Wair Max,” proposes a design suitable for both high-performance skate and casual wear, leaning into celebrated Air Max aesthetics to attract a wide case of sneaker fanatics both inside and out of the skater community.
Already released in red and blue colorways, the Nike Ishod 2 now dresses in a look favored by many at the heart of skate culture, complete with an all-black base and gum soles. This delivery represents a continuation of a common Nike SB design theme, the black/gum look most recently taking to the Nike SB Dunk Low late last year. Some diehard skaters attribute their fandom of black/gum shoes to the design’s ability to cover heavy damage/wear, while others simply have fondness for the palette as a whole.
