Updated April 26th, 2024: A detailed look at Verdy’s Nike SB Dunk Low “Visty” have surfaced via @chriscolgan. As of this update, a firm release date has yet to be announced by either Nike or the Girls Don’t Cry founder.
Girls Don’t Cry founder VERDY is in cahoots with Nike SB once again as the duo is poised to drop another legendary SB Dunk Low that is already rising the ranks as one of 2024’s most wanted sneakers.
VERDY himself reveals a first look at his sophomore project with Nike SB, revealing Visty’s signature shades of pastel blues, greens, yellows, and pinks constructed in a hairy, plush manner on the skate-shoe classic. Visty first emerged in 2021 as a limited-edition plush toy that honored his RISE ABOVE solo exhibit that took place in Tokyo in late 2021.
Rumors of another Girls Don’t Cry SB Dunk first surfaced in October of last year, with many guessing pointing to a variation of his first red/white design. As we can see, VERDY executes a completely different vision that only promises more unpredictability in the future.
VERDY’s first project with the Swoosh first appeared in 2019 — a Japan-exclusive that circled around his massively popular Girls Don’t Cry label. As one of the country’s most prominent graphic designers and illustrators, VERDY continued the growth of his portfolio since, often collaborating with other influential names and brands including (but not limited to) Hiroshi Fujiwara, Beats By Dre, Dr. Martens, and much more.
Stay tuned for updates as we learn more about this collaborative release; we can only suspect that these will be as limited in nature as his first pair, with a Japan-only release possible.
