The New Balance 650 Appears With Bright Orange Accents

A familiar look for the old school high-tops.

The New Balance 650 Appears With Bright Orange Accents

The New Balance 650, a massive beneficiary of the retro wave that the Boston brand has been on (see the New Balance 550 or New Balance 1906R), continues to roll out new looks as they factor heavily into each successive sneaker season. Their latest, a traditional white & orange layout, doesn’t reinvent the wheel, but presents a new, flashier option to add your wardrobe.

These utilize what is essentially the “default” colorblocking for the 650, sneaking some grey accents to a predominantly eggshell sneaker. Perhaps the one additional bit we haven’t seen before is what they do with the rear, branded leather webbing. Traditionally clad in neutral shades, it’s black here, mirroring the only other use of the shade on the tongue.

Elsewise, orange rules the day for this 650, taking to the midsole, upper mesh sections and sitting below the cutout N insignia. The particular shade of orange is a source of intrigue in and of itself, leaning towards peach rather than tangerine.

The New Balance 650 “White/Orange” don’t carry a concrete release date. Instead, expect this men’s sneaker to hit retailers and NewBalance.com in the coming weeks, arriving at a $140 price point.

In a prominent bit of news out of Boston, the Kith New Balance 1906R are slated for a drop this weekend.
