Now going strong for the better part of a year, the Nike LeBron 21 has emerged in some pretty notable colorways over the past few months, either released to the public like the Nike LeBron 21 “All-Star” or in player exclusive fashion like the Nike LeBron 21 “Prime Year.” With editions like those helping the silhouette establish a presence on its own two, the next colorway dips back into Nike history for the iconic “Cool Grey.”
Our first look at this upcoming “Cool Grey” version come via @aulebron23, sharing the side profile you see above. Sneakerheads of any age should be able to conjure up the primary colors on this shoe just by name alone, the elephantine shade that the Air Jordan 11 made famous heavily employed here. Its utilization is pretty much head to toe, with slight adjustments made for the hue that dresses the midsole and the tongue.
The pronounced ribbing on the upper is the real notable detail here, weaving above the dimensional mesh which also seems to get somewhat of a material revamp. That abstract pattern is mirrored on the midsole, and though early looks haven’t revealed the outsole in full, it strikes reminiscent to the Akron homage on the soles of the Nike LeBron NXXT Gen. Finally, the swoosh, stamped on most releases flush with the rest of the shoe, also gets a new embossed look, clad in a translucent, iridescent “Jewel.”
The Nike LeBron 21 “Cool Grey” is expected to release on April 21st for $200.
In more notable Nike news, the ultra-premium Air Jordan 1 “Wings” collection was unveiled in official fashion.
