ASICS injects a philosophical “wabi-sabi” approach to footwear with the upcoming “Imperfection Pack,” — a quarter of brand silhouettes that embraces the beauty of the aging. Comprised comprised of the GEL-Kayano 14, GEL-1090v2, GT-2160, and Japan S, this upcoming capsule reflects the aging process of clay pots and how the natural wear and tear can be perceived as refinement.
Two intentional design touches help the concept come to life across the four silhouettes: Visible foams and cracked leather appear throughout the models, while the rough-around-the-edges strike logo that repeats throughout the quartet reflect how exteriors of pottery degrade over time. Earthy browns, beiges and blacks are heavily utilized on most of the shoes, save for the ASICS Japan S. Classic mesh is also swapped out for an artisanal canvas to further communicate a premium effect.
As it stands the ASICS “Imperfection Pack” is expected to release beginning on March 22nd; see the official images of all four models ahead.
