The New Balance 1906R delivers some of the best general release colorways on the market, ranging from dives into material and color to contemporary looks that hold down the model’s meticulous detailing. The 1906R’s next makeup doesn’t fit perfectly within either of those two categories, but instead offers a full-on embrace of the sneaker industry’s hottest design cue; reflective overlays.

Current Y2K fashion sensibilities have made reflective elements one of the most coveted features among lifestyle sneakers, and this particular 1906R fully leans into that trend. Such treatments are a signature feature across nearly all New Balance 1906R designs, albeit not always the central attraction — this edition being a case in point. Reflective overlays encompass the toe, forefoot, and quarter on this pair, all set against clean white mesh base. This brightness is held down by a grey TPU heel counter and matching accents on the midsole to break up an otherwise monochrome palette.

Essentially, this colorway excels in what the model does best, offering a fresh yet familiar addition to an already massive selection. Especially noteworthy for those who missed the “Cream” KITH New Balance 1906R in March, this model presents a similar vibe, minus the pop of color.

Retailers appear set to release the New Balance 1906R “Reflection” on April 8th; visit our Sneaker Release Dates page for updates as well as a full preview of upcoming New Balance lifestyle drops throughout the course of the year.
