The abstract world of Kid Super is most well known through their in-line clothing releases, but out of all sneaker giants, PUMA is the one that’s given them the most shots at footwear. Across silhouettes like the Mirage Mox, Nitefox and Style Rider, they’ve showcased their penchant for the playful on several choice occasions. Reprising the relationship, the two imprints are coming together once again to reinvent the PUMA Velophasis.
While the original Velophasis structure and shape remain in place, Kid Super’s influence is felt in the finer details. The silhouette’s sole unit is left intact, its most obvious standout feature the rubber lip that extends past the point at the toe. Original Velaphosis releases featured intricate overlays, but here the geometry changes- webbed suede sections overlap and intersect as they sprawl across the profile. Leather takes up most of the tongue, but a diagonal cuts between it and suede revealed from underneath.
The color blocking for these two pairs is largely identical, with a gradient from Moss green to ecru occuring on the upper of the first pair. Similarly, a beige to brown spectrum marks the second, an overall dominant shade contrasted by slight blue hits throughout. In all, this collection remains in decidedly earthy territory, but the swirling designs and playful details help these carry forward the KidSuper ethos.
Both pairs of KidSuper x PUMA Velophasis will release on April 13th for an MSRP of $130. Enjoy detailed images below, with links above for drop day.
In other collab news, the Joe Freshgoods New Balance 1000 have their first raffle live now, with a wider NewBalance.com drop to follow on April 19th.
