Nike innovation moves at a breakneck pace. Just yesterday in Paris, they unveiled new Air tech on the Pegasus Premium and a slew of concept models like the Nike Wemby A.I.R. Prototype. All that to say, the deluge of fresh headlines can overshadow the preceding ones, like the continued excellence of 2024’s new Nike Air Max Plus Drift. It’s back in our sights once again with its newest “Football Grey/Aquarius Blue” colorway.

The icy mix of navy and grey that dominates the wavy TPU overlays is the true tone setter for this release, but belies some vibrant accents hidden underneath. That’s literally the case for the gradient that takes to underlying mesh, slowly working those two titular shades into fiery orange shades at the forefoot. It’s a choice mirrored in the rubber section that interrupts the midsole, where a strip of orange outlines baby blue. Even with the oceanic palette that dominates this shoe, those warmer hits link back to the ever-present “Sunset” ties that run over the whole Nike Air Max Plus line.

The Nike Air Max Plus Drift “Football Grey” is expected to drop as a part of the Nike Summer ’24 slate. Enjoy official photos just ahead.

Circling back to France, the Air Jordan 4 SE “Paris Olympics” is coming in July to commemorate the international games.
