Divisive as it may be among hard-line Air Jordan 1 enthusiasts, the Mid cut version continues to roll on as the more accessible version of Mike’s first signature. There’s clearly still a demand for the model as well, as it receives new outfits on a monthly, if not weekly basis. The latest women’s exclusive clads it in sprightly “Light Dew,” a pair clearly with eyes on warmer weather.
Certainly, white-dominant pairs are the most timeless and familiar formulation for any type of AJ1, but that comes at a cost. It can become a redundant look at a point, which is why swapping to light grey on the underlying leather panels and cream on the midsole is a welcome change here. Though there are obviously some points of contrast, these slot in as at least a close cousin to the Air Jordan 1 High “Turbo Green” (or the Jordan 1 “Green Glow” for that matter.) With the Turbo Green’s release now 5 years in the rear view mirror, this edition revitalizes that spring colorway and provides another opportunity to get in on its appeal.
The Air Jordan 1 Mid “Light Dew” is set to arrive for Summer ’24. The women’s release will command a $125 retail price. Enjoy official looks just ahead.
