The tributes to Deion Sanders continue for the King.

LeBron James Wears Another Nike LeBron 21 “Diamond Turf” PE

It was another night to forget for LeBron James and the Lakers on the court, unable to fell the Nuggets despite more standout play from their stars. On feet, though, it was continued excellence. The future Hall of Famer unveiled a second Deion Sanders inspired PE colorway of his Nike LeBron 21, this time taking cues from the “Varsity Red” edition.

While most PEs that catch our eye are simple palette swaps, the ones that have graced the LeBron 21 have featured far more hardware changes. In addition to relocating the ventilation to closer resemble Prime’s trainer, a strap is also tacked on towards the midfoot, mirroring the jagged, layered construction of the original model’s. No tribute to the DT Max 96 would be complete without replicating the sawtooth pattern, the cut outs here revealing the wavy piping that defines mainline releases of the LeBron 21.

Though this is certainly newsworthy for LeBron’s contributions alone, it also adds to a big recent push for Deion Sanders shoes. Select ATL retailers like Sole Play released new stock of Prime’s stock of the Nike Air DT Max ’96, already confirmed for a retro release this year.  Additionally, official images of the cleated version emerged earlier this month. Though we don’t have any official word yet, all signs point to a release date just around the corner for the more colorways of the iconic 90s model.

You can get a look at how LeBron’s PEs looked in motion via the embedded video ahead.

Sticking with basketball shoes, the Nike KD 17 makes its debut on May 17th.
