The direction of new Nike lifestyle releases is made clear on the Nike Dunk Low Remastered. Just like modern Air Max and Jordan interpretations, the properties of the 80s-bred basketball silhouette are completely overhauled here, all in an effort to appeal to a new generation with a penchant for unique and distinctive design.
This latest “Baltic Blue” treatment doesn’t lend itself to any mainline colorways like past “Remastered” looks have, but comes as a sensible addition to Nike’s Summer 2024 lineup given its reliance on light colors. The Swoosh, laces, lining, and deconstructed tongue tab all wear “Baltic Blue” while the base sports “Photon Dust” leather and white mesh.
Stitched accents, overlay cutouts, and a detached upper eyestay serve the model’s namesake, but its most notable features present on the tongue; a nylon strap runs down the middle, strings are utilized as lace holes, and the structure itself boasts oversized and exposed foam. While maybe somewhat lost in the shuffle given the shoe’s busy upper, a re-worked outsole rides up onto the toe in “Sesame.”
