The 2000s clog looks to capture the slip-on footwear trend.

Amidst a growing niche consisting of abstract clogs and other slip-on kicks, the Nike Clogposite emerges from deep in the Beaverton brand’s archives to join in on the trend. The shoe’s return was announced during last year’s SNKRS Showcase, and now official images of this “Chrome” colorway arrive along with a projected Fall 2024 release.

The Clogposite is essentially a re-imagination of the Nike Flightposite 1, only with the top half chopped off to produce the lower height. Foamposite spans the full length of the shoe, while mesh covers the forefoot in the absence of laces. This “Chrome” colorway presents as an obvious choice to mark the silhouette’s return to market, reflecting the traditional makeup of Foamposite shoes, but other colorways including “Triple White” and “Volt” pairs are expected to release throughout the course of the year.

Sneakerheads weren’t too hot on the Clogposite when it debuted in the early 2000s, nor were they when Nike brought it back in 2014 under the moniker “Solo Slide.” However, today’s footwear trends offer fertile ground for the Clogposite’s success. Look no further than Crocs and “gorpcore” shoes from brands like New Balance and Salomon; the market for unique, slip-on footwear has never been stronger.

Not for nothing, the Clogposite revival comes as part of a larger effort to bring Foamposite shoes back into the fold through a number of upcoming drops. Notably, the Nike Flightposite 1 “Metallic Gold” is expected to return come Holiday 2024.

The Nike Clogposite “Chrome” is set to release Fall 2024 for $140. Enjoy official images below and tap our Sneaker Release Dates page while we hunt down word of a firm drop date.
