HYMNE & Reebok Announce Their First Collaboration On The Classic Nylon and Club C

Since courting Pyer Moss founder Kerby Jean-Raymond, Reebok has worn plain their appreciation for the experimental side of the industry. Through that relationship is no longer, they’ve enlisted Jide Osifeso in the time since, the creative bouncing between work at the sneaker giant and his own HYMNE imprint. Now, at least for one brief moment, he doesn’t have to split his time. The two brands are uniting for an upcoming collection centered around the Reebok Club C and Classic Nylon.

Concepts of geometry are explored in two different directions on either. The Reebok Club C remains rather close to its iconic construction, maintaining its classic mix of leather and suede. An all-encompassing grey paints the whole shoe, but the real addition comes at the tongue and toe-box. Triangular and rectangular TPU protrusions sit proudly above both sections, a heavily unconventional change that imparts a lot of futuristic appeal onto a model always sold on its long-standing history.

The Classic Nylon is tweaked even further, beginning with a mesh base and an elastic sock-like entrance. The changes continue with a circular black extension on the midsole, the one piece that breaks up a comprehensive palette of slate grey and white. A polygonal swatch on the lateral side is the only remnant of Reebok branding, slimming down the sides of the shoe. The design of the Classic Nylon and Club C rounds out with HYME spelled on the tongue, driving home the influence of the LA label on these unconventional Reebok kicks.

The full Reebok x HYMNE collection drops via hymnestuido.com on May 28th. Check out official photos just below to get a sense of what to expect on drop day.
