Nike Covers The Dunk Low With Biker Tattoos

The Dunk returns to its playful roots.

Nike Covers The Dunk Low With Biker Tattoos

A sheer lack of volume has made the Nike Dunk Low one of the more reliable, conservative models in the current sneaker game. Conceptually, though, the willingness to use the once-basketball silhouette for some of the most expressive colorways across the whole Beaverton catalog has never wavered. Collaborations like the Verdy Dunk Low are one thing, but it also extends to GR editions- look no further than the Nike Dunk Low “Biker Tattoos” for proof.

Staid black, red and white leather sets up a well grounded foundation. The toe-box is the first indication that something is amiss, trading in its typical ordered perforation for a cobweb arrangement. The more colorful ties begin on the tongue tags, depicting a spider with a Swoosh on its belly and a bird with a “Just Do It” banner (the latter easily imagined with a “MOM” banner instead as the jumping off point).

The shades of those faux tats are proudly stamped on the heel cup in a green to yellow gradient. Arguably the best illustration of this biker tat concept is sadly on the interior, a decidedly metal drawing of an eagle in front of a Swoosh, the full picture split across the two insoles.

The Nike Dunk Low “Biker Tattoos” hasn’t been confirmed for a specific release date. Instead, expect more details as we near the Fall ’24 slate. Enjoy official images just below in the meantime.

Staying with the Swoosh, check out the latest on the Nike KD 17 as it begins hitting shelves, including the KD 17 “Penny” coming May 24th.
