END. Goes Fly Fishing With Its Latest adidas Collaboration

Sneaker brands have been know to draw inspiration from seemingly the most unlikely of places, and the latest END. x adidas collaboration lives up to that distinction. The duo’s set to drop a massive collection consisting of cargo pants, vests, bucket hats, tees, sweats and multiple pairs of the adidas Tobacco and adidas Mocaturf, two sleeper silhouettes that rarely see the light of day. The common theme at the root of it all? Fly Fishing.

While the capsule stems from a surprising source, it makes a whole lot more sense when you read into how popular fly fishing has become recently. The global fly fishing market is expected to surge considerably in the next ten years, and if there’s one catalyst behind it all, it’s most definitely the pandemic. People were forced to spend more time doing nature activities in lieu of other forms of entertainment, fly fishing being a common choice among them. Droves of young folks have since immersed themselves (literally) in the activity, and it would appear that END. and adidas were paying attention through it all. Their latest collection re-introduces traditional Fly Fishing garb but with a modern twist, complete with ample footwear so as to let Fly Fishing fanatics rep their favorite activity outside the water.

Despite rarely rearing its head nowadays, the adidas Tobacco presents as very familiar. The 1978-born lifestyle shoe draws from other soccer terrace classics like the adidas Samba and Gazelle, complete with a low-top height and Three Stripes branding at the quarter. Taking note from fish like trout, bass, and carp, END. dresses the shoe in two separate “Wild Pine” and “Ecru Tint” colorways, each of which feature suede at the base.

Meanwhile, the adidas Mocaturf comes as a far more unexpected part of the collection. Normally a straight-to-outlet special, END. spruces up the moccasin-sneaker hybrid in two suede looks inspired by nature and geology. Multiple brown hues settle on a “Sand” pair, while “Chalk White” carries a more reserved appearance on the other. Notably, the Three Stripes branding on the quarter of both pairs features a little extra fabric sticking out towards the bottom, cleverly evoking the look of fishing lures.

The END. x adidas Originals “Fly Fishing” collection will launch in its entirety via END. on Friday, May 31st 2024. Both adidas Tobacco colorways are priced at $125, while the adidas Mocatufs command a $160 MSRP. Scroll through detailed images of each shoe below ahead of time.
