In the Swoosh’s latest spotlight activation, the name Bill Bowerman rung out loudly and proudly, his contributions to nascent Nike Performance footwear echoing some sixty years later. Though the “Blueprint” series dedicated to the innovator manifested in the moment on shoes like the Nike PS8 and the Nike Jam, subsequent releases have paid homage alongside those new models. The latest to get in on the action is the Greater Than line, Nike Basketball’s premier basketball family. The Zoom GT Cut 3 is no exception, appearing in its very own “Blueprint” look ahead of the Olympics.
The hallmarks of those previous editions play a central role here, easily seen on the speckled Swoosh and its doubled blue/orange counterparts on the tongue. Pure white is the dominant shade, but the translucent outsole tints towards gum to add some contrast at the forefoot. Arguably the most personal touch lands on the insole, where a personal Bowerman drawing of the human foot highlights precise pressure points that play a role in optimizing performance. Though it’s a rather reserved look for basketball shoes, it’s a weighty colorway all the same and one that’s sure to turn heads on the court as a result.
The Nike Zoom GT Cut 3 “Blueprint” will release on July 3rd, retailing for $190. Catch a look at official images via the gallery embedded below.
