Original article posted June 4th, 2024: Though the New Balance 9060 is perfectly able to pull off eccentric, vibrant looks, the home base for the model is in conservative fashion. It’s a “go with anything” sort of design principle that all of the Boston brand’s output has capitalized on since its inception, and particularly in its dominant run in the 2020s. The New Balance 9060 revisits that proposition once again for its latest edition, combining “Sea Salt” & “Moonbeam.”

Again, the palette on display isn’t the most groundbreaking- on top of a complementary mix of earthy tones up top, the midsole is split between white and beige while a jet block outsole grounds the design at the very bottom. Yet this shoe not reinventing the wheel is arguably it’s greatest asset. The retro-futuristic design of the 9060 can sometimes make the model a hard one to pull off when its wearing more out-of-left-field colorways. This “Sea Salt” & “Moonbeam” version provides an accessible alternative, sliding into the everyday canon alongside the New Balance 550 and New Balance 1906R.

The New Balance 9060 “Moonbeam” releases on July 31st, retailing for $150. Catch official images in the gallery just ahead.

Sticking with the brand, the Aime Leon Dore New Balance 1000 collection drops July 6th.
